Mega Moolah in Brief
Mega Moolah is a five-reel safari slot with a jackpot wheel that can appear at random after a spin. Once the wheel starts, it always stops on one of four progressive jackpots: Mini, Minor, Major or Mega. The Mega tier is pooled across a large network of casinos, which is why it is the prize behind most of the attention the game gets. The rest of the time it plays as a fairly gentle slot with a lion wild and a free spins round in which every win is tripled.
Among the 30 casinos we rank, Slotorado lists Mega Moolah itself in its games catalogue, Snatch Casino lists Agent Jane Blonde Mega Moolah and Mr Baron lists Book of Mega Moolah. Three more carry games from the studio, which is a reason to search their lobbies. For the wider picture of jackpot titles and jackpot types, start with our guide to jackpot slots.
Commission and independence: if a link in this Mega Moolah guide leads you to open a casino account, The Mountain Air may earn a commission. It is never a factor in a casino’s score or its position in any of our lists, and each casino’s own terms set what you actually get.

How the Mega Moolah Jackpot Works
Four Tiers on One Wheel
A small share of every stake placed on Mega Moolah is set aside for the jackpots. Each tier climbs at its own pace and drops back to a starting figure once someone wins it. The Mini and Minor are the prizes you are most likely to see if the wheel ever appears, the Major is rarer, and the Mega, which pools contributions from players at many casinos, is the long shot that can grow into a very large sum.
The wheel itself shows the balance of chances. Segments for the smaller tiers take up most of it, while the Mega occupies a narrow slice. You spin it once, the pointer stops, and you win the tier it lands on.
What Triggers the Jackpot Wheel
There is no symbol combination to chase. The wheel is triggered at random, and the reels do not need to show anything special. Three points matter:
- Any stake can win. You do not need to play at the maximum bet for the jackpots to be in reach.
- A higher stake raises the chance. The likelihood of the wheel appearing rises with the size of your bet, and the rise is generally described as roughly proportional: double the stake and you about double your chance per spin, along with your cost per spin.
- The wheel always pays a jackpot. Once it starts it cannot miss; the only question is which of the four tiers it lands on.
Why the Mega Can Grow So Large
Mega Moolah is a network jackpot: the same pots are fed by players at a great many casinos at once. The Mega keeps climbing between wins, and because it is won so rarely, it can build for a long time. When it drops, it resets to a starting amount and begins to grow again. The figure on the meter tells you how large the prize is, not when it will next be won.
The Mega Moolah Family
Games Global has released several other slots under the Mega Moolah name, each with its own theme and base-game features. In our ranking, Mr Baron’s lobby lists Book of Mega Moolah, and Snatch Casino lists the spy-themed Agent Jane Blonde Mega Moolah, which it credits to Stormcraft. Do not assume that every branded title shares the same pots or the same rules: each game’s information screen states which jackpots it is linked to and how they are won. Our page on Microgaming jackpot games covers the studio’s wider jackpot range, and how WowPot works explains its other large pooled jackpot.
Volatility and RTP: What They Mean for Your Budget
Mega Moolah splits its value in an unusual way. A large slice of the total return is reserved for the jackpots, which only a handful of players ever win. What remains for the base game and the free spins is modest, and the top regular prizes are small next to many modern slots.
| During a typical session | What that means for your money |
|---|
| Frequent small line wins, often below your stake | Your balance tends to drift down slowly rather than swing wildly |
| Free spins now and then, with wins tripled | The main source of bigger base-game wins |
| The jackpot wheel very rarely | Most likely the Mini or Minor if it does appear |
| The Mega tier almost never | A lottery-style extra, not something to plan around |
The return to player shown in the game info includes the jackpot share, so the base game on its own pays back less than that figure. Some casinos make the number easy to find: each game page at Snatch Casino gives the RTP and the maximum win, and Betportal lists the RTP and volatility of each game. Look for the figure before you play and compare it with the slots you usually choose. If your aim is a long session on a small budget, a non-jackpot slot with a higher base return will usually last longer.
Base-Game Features
Lion Wild
The lion is the wild. It stands in for every symbol except the monkey scatter, and any line win it helps to complete is doubled. Lions are also among the best-paying symbols in their own right, so the lion is the symbol to watch in the base game.
Monkey Scatter and Free Spins
Three or more monkey scatters anywhere on the reels award 15 free spins, and every win during the round is tripled. More scatters during the round can add further spins. Scatters also pay a prize of their own, based on your total stake. Because the base game pays modestly, the free spins are where most of your bigger non-jackpot wins will come from.
Symbols and Paytable
The safari animals are the higher-paying symbols, and playing-card ranks fill the lower end of the paytable. Prize values scale with your stake, so open the paytable before you start: it shows the current win for every combination at the stake you have chosen.
Graphics and Sound
Mega Moolah looks its age, with bright, flat cartoon art, simple animations and a safari soundtrack. For many players that simplicity is part of the appeal: there are no cascading reels, multipliers that build up or bonus buys to learn. The game is made for mobile as well as desktop, and when the wheel appears the screen switches to the jackpot round, so you cannot miss it.
