How Drops and Wins Works, Step by Step
- Pick a qualifying slot. Participating Pragmatic Play games show the Drops & Wins pop-up when you open them, and most casinos group them in a lobby category. At Buffalo Spins that category includes Gates of Olympus, Sweet Bonanza, Sugar Rush 1000, Big Bass Bonanza, The Dog House, Mustang Gold and Wild West Gold.
- Opt in for the week. Joining is not automatic. At Buffalo Spins you opt in weekly through the pop-up inside the game or the Join Now button in the Tournaments category, and Spinboss also asks for an opt-in once a week.
- Play with real money. Tournament spins must meet the minimum bet, which is £0.15 in the Buffalo Spins terms. Flutterhall states that only real-money bets count towards the studio tournaments it lists.
- Collect points and wheel pieces. Each qualifying win adds its multiplier to your tournament score, and real-money spins can award wheel pieces.
- Receive any prize. Buffalo Spins credits prizes within 72 hours, and its cash prizes come with no wagering or withdrawal restrictions.
Daily Tournaments: How Points Are Scored
Each daily tournament ranks players by points. In the Buffalo Spins terms your score is the sum of your win multipliers, only your first 5,000 qualifying bets count, and 500 cash prizes are paid each day, from £3,000 for first place down to £5. Flutterhall lists seven daily tournaments a week.
A win multiplier is the win divided by the stake, so the size of your bet does not buy points by itself:
| Stake | Win | Points added |
|---|
| £0.20 | £10 | 50 |
| £2.00 | £10 | 5 |
| £1.00 | £0 | 0 |
| £0.50 | £75 | 150 |
Two things follow. A small stake that lands a big multiplier scores exactly as well as a large stake with the same multiplier, so there is no reason to raise your bet for the leaderboard. And because points are added up over many spins, the players near the top tend to be the ones who play a great deal. The 5,000-bet cap limits that, but it is still far more spins than a sensible session, so treat the tournament as a bonus on spins you were going to play anyway.
Weekly Wheel Drops: Three Pieces, One Spin
Real-money spins of any stake on qualifying games can drop wheel pieces. Collect three and you get one spin of the prize wheel. In the Buffalo Spins terms the wheel pays either a multiplier prize of up to 100,000x the bet, with the bet counted up to £1, or 10 or 20 free spins, and each player can win no more than two wheel prizes a week.
The £1 limit matters: staking more than £1 a spin does not make a multiplier prize any bigger. The top multiplier is the rare exception, so expect free spins or a modest multiplier when you do get a wheel spin.
The Weekly Opt-In and Minimum Bets
- The opt-in covers the current week only, so you join again each week.
- Tournament spins need at least £0.15 at Buffalo Spins, while wheel pieces can come from real-money spins of any stake.
- Bonus money is not the way in: Flutterhall counts only real-money bets, and the Buffalo Spins wheel pieces are earned on real-money spins.
- Stage start and end times are set in Central European Time, so check them against UK time before a session.
How Much Can You Actually Win?
The headline pool is large, but it is spread over a year, over every casino taking part and over a very large number of prizes. The Buffalo Spins page even gives two figures for weekly prizes: 50,000 in its introduction and 96,900 in the Wheel Drops terms. Either way, the money is shared out in many small pieces rather than one large prize.
| Prize | What the Buffalo Spins terms say | What it means for you |
|---|
| Daily tournament places | 500 cash prizes a day, from £3,000 down to £5 | Most places pay small sums; the top spots need very large multipliers |
| Wheel drop | One prize per spin: a multiplier of up to 100,000x the bet (bet counted up to £1), or 10 or 20 free spins | Smaller outcomes are far more common than the top multiplier |
| Weekly limit | No more than two wheel prizes per player a week | You cannot keep collecting wheel prizes all week |
| Payment | Within 72 hours; no wagering or withdrawal restrictions on cash prizes | A cash prize can be withdrawn like any real-money win |
For most players the honest answer is: often nothing, sometimes a few free spins or a small cash prize, and very rarely more. That makes Drops and Wins a pleasant extra on a session you had already planned, not a reason to play for longer.
Which Slots Qualify for Drops and Wins?
Only selected Pragmatic Play slots qualify, and the list can change from one stage to the next. The quickest check is the Drops & Wins pop-up or banner inside the game: if it is not there, the spin does not count. Lobby categories are a useful shortcut but not always a tidy one. Buffalo Spins’ promotion text lists about 50 qualifying games, while its lobby category showed 23, and Slotorado’s Drops & Wins category holds 578 games against 46 in Zombillion’s, which shows how differently casinos sort the same prize drop slots.
Qualifying titles named at Buffalo Spins include:
- Gates of Olympus and Sweet Bonanza, two of the studio’s best-known tumbling-reel slots
- Sugar Rush 1000 and The Dog House
- Big Bass Bonanza from the fishing series
- Mustang Gold and Wild West Gold
Where to Play Drops and Wins Slots
What to Check Before Picking a Casino
- Whether the casino publishes the Drops & Wins rules itself or only shows the banner in the game.
- Where the qualifying games sit in the lobby, so you are not guessing which spins count.
- Whether bonus money is excluded from the promotion and from the games you plan to play.
- How the casino verifies accounts and pays prizes, and its usual withdrawal rules.

Drops and Wins vs Regular Slots and Jackpots
Opting in does not change the slot itself: the paytable and the features are the same, and the prizes come from the promotion’s own pool rather than from the game’s paytable. What changes is that some of your spins can also earn tournament points or wheel pieces.
| Drops and Wins | Progressive jackpot | Must-drop jackpot |
|---|
| Where the prize money comes from | The promotion’s own prize pool | A share of every qualifying stake | A share of every qualifying stake |
| Number of prizes | 500 a day in tournaments at Buffalo Spins, plus wheel prizes | One per tier each time it is won | One per tier before each deadline or cap |
| Joining | Weekly opt-in | Automatic on qualifying bets | Automatic on qualifying bets |
| What decides a prize | Leaderboard points and wheel spins | The game’s jackpot trigger | A random drop before the deadline or cap |
| Typical prize | Small cash sums or free spins | A long shot at a very large sum | Smaller, capped amounts |

The Terms That Decide Whether You Win
- The weekly opt-in. Miss it and your spins earn nothing from the promotion.
- The stage dates. Each stage has fixed start and end times in CET.
- The qualifying game. Look for the Drops & Wins pop-up or banner inside the game, not just the lobby tile.
- The minimum bet. £0.15 for tournament spins at Buffalo Spins.
- The scoring cap. Only the first 5,000 qualifying bets count towards your tournament score.
- The wheel bet limit. Multiplier prizes are worked out on a bet of no more than £1.
- Real money only. Flutterhall counts only real-money bets, and Buffalo Spins wheel pieces come from real-money spins.
- How prizes are paid. Buffalo Spins pays within 72 hours with no wagering on cash prizes. Check whether free-spin prizes at your casino carry wagering; our wagering requirements guide explains how to read those terms.
Is Drops and Wins Worth It? Our View
Drops and Wins costs nothing extra to join, and on games you already enjoy it adds a small chance of a cash prize or some free spins. That is its whole value. It goes wrong when the leaderboard or the wheel becomes the reason to play: tournament points reward volume, and volume costs money. If you opt in, keep your normal stake and your normal session length.
Pros
- Free to join with a weekly opt-in
- Cash prizes at Buffalo Spins carry no wagering
- Scoring on multipliers means small stakes can compete
- Runs on popular Pragmatic Play slots you may already play
Cons
- Most prizes are small, and most players win nothing
- The leaderboard rewards long sessions
- Prize counts and qualifying lists differ between pages and stages
- Bonus money may not count towards the promotion
Playing Drops and Wins Responsibly
You must be 18+ to play. Slots and prize promotions are paid entertainment, never a way to make money. Set a budget and a time limit before you start, and do not stretch a session to chase a leaderboard place or a third wheel piece. Deposit limits, time-outs and self-exclusion are explained in our safer gambling guide.
